House w/o pets has been exterminated twice and still has fleas

QuestionsHouse w/o pets has been exterminated twice and still has fleas

Hi. My dog passed away six week ago from old age. I had been giving him free treatments. Two weeks later, I see one flea, and then the swarm.  I had begun vacuuming, spraying, using the vinegar spray, called an exterminator who has been out twice now, used flea busters, raid furniture spray, fogger, you name it. When is this misery going to end? They’re infested my dresser twice and I and so sick of rewashing laundry and feeling of vinegar and Off spray. I even got rid of my sofas and tore the carpets out of my room. My kids don’t seem to hve any in their rooms. I also keep getting them in my hair even with tea tree oil. I’m desperate. Got any others ideas I can try?

Kayla,

It sounds like you’ve taken all the correct steps, especially the vacuuming, sprays, and exterminator treatments. It can take a couple months for infestations to end, because most of the population is immature fleas hidden in the environment. There, they are protected from most control measures. Patience is required while all of these stages mature, emerge as adults, and die. However, without an animal host in the home, this should be the last generation.

Sorry I took a while to respond. I hope your problem has been solved at this point.

Adam
