Fleas do not have queens. Fleas aren’t social insects. They also don’t live in colonies or hives. Species that have queens and live in colonies are eusocial insects, such as ants, bees, wasps, and termites.
Adult fleas live on their host. There, the males and females find each other and mate. Instead of a single queen, all female fleas are capable of laying eggs. Each female deposits an average of 25 eggs a day. The eggs are laid on the host, but they aren’t sticky and soon fall into the environment. There, the eggs mature into larvae, pupae, and eventually new adults.
