Without a pet, fleas won’t be able to lay eggs. They need blood to reproduce, and humans don’t make suitable hosts.
It takes around 17-26 days for eggs to become adults fleas in homes. However, sometimes it takes longer. Without animals, the infestation in your home should be ending soon.
A big problem with flea control is that cocooned pre-emerged adults can enter a dormant-like state for 5 months, waiting for a host before emerging. Specifically, heat and pressure cause emergence. Vacuuming simulates these host cues.
Continue vacuuming. You should notice a drastic reduction in the flea populations very soon. And complete eradication will shortly follow. I can’t give you an exact time frame, but it’s hard to imagine the infestation continuing past a few weeks.
