Spot-On Flea Drops for Cats

Kill Fleas on Cats

Adult cat fleas have permanently remain on their host. Once a host is acquired, the fleas will not leave unless they die or are dislodged.

Topical flea drops for cats typically contain both an adulticide and an insect growth regulator (IGR). The adulticide (fipronil, imidacloprid or dinotefuran) will kill adult fleas on the cat. The IGR (pyriproxyfen or methoprene) prevents female fleas from laying viable eggs and stops the development of eggs and larvae.
