No life stage can survive freezing temperatures for extended periods.

Adult Fleas
Adult fleas die at 37.4°F within 10 days. They’ll die within five days at 30.2°F.

Adult fleas live permanently on their hosts once they jump on it. Thus, they can survive winters on the warm-blooded animals.

Eggs & Larvae
Flea eggs can survive to hatch at 50.4°F, but 100% of larvae will die within 10 days at this cold of a temperature. At 46.4°F, all eggs die within 10 days.

Immature stages develop in the environment. They can survive winters in homes or freeze-protected animal dens.
