Hello, The flea traps I\’ve set out haven\’t shown any new fleas for a week (it\’s been one week since I last sprayed my \”hot spot.\”).  Should I keep vacuuming every other day?   COBO

COBO,

You can start dialing back the vacuuming if you haven’t seen any fleas in a while. But it’s still a good idea to vacuum a couple times per week for around 2-3 months, especially in the areas where you noticed the most fleas.

Vacuuming every other day is important when establishing control, because it removes newly dropped flea eggs before they have a chance to hatch into larvae (they hatch in 1-2 days). And eggs are easier to remove than larvae. It sounds like you’re past the stage of large numbers of new eggs falling onto the carpets.

Hope this helps,
Adam
