So, after reading your info, I was looking at the flea traps I have which use candelabra incandescent bulbs and sticky paper under the lights. I started thinking an idea light would be an LED that maybe alternates between cat spectrum light and dog spectrum light and also blinks once in a while. I would imagine such a bulb should be very cost efficient to manufacture, but I think nobody has made them yet. Should we?
Thom,
After the research was done on what attracts fleas, the researchers designed a trap similar to what you describe. It’s called My Flea Trap. You can read all about the design specifications in this study (you will need to find a way to access the PDF):
I am not sure what patents they have covering the design of this kind of trap.
Warm regards,
Adam
I’m also trying to get drone manufacturers to make noxious insect (fleas, mosquitoes, flies, etc.) hunting drones for in-house use and also for residential yard use. So far photonicsentry.com has been the most enthusiastic about my proposals. But they are taking a very long time to figure what they’re going to make. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know what else I was pursuing, since it might impact whether or not we should make flea LEDs.
