Paranoid!

hollymchesnut asked 7 years ago

Last June we realized that we had been infested with fleas.  After trying to treat with over the counter flea foggers (twice the amount for the size of home), we spent a day wiping everything down and slowly moving things into a storage unit, this was unsuccessful at killing these little things.  At that time we contacted professional pest control who came out and treated 3 times. We were able to get most things wiped down, but some things just got put into trash bags/boxes/plastic totes and sent over to the storage.  Everything has been in the storage unit with very minimal entry since then (about 7-8 months).  I am terrified to move things into our new home fearing that somehow they survived.  Is there any way even the pupae in the cocoon could survive the summer and then the winter in central Illinois for that long?

hollymchesnut,

I am sorry to hear about your previous flea problem. The good is that no stage can survive longer than 5-6 months. You should be in the clear.

Warm regards,
Adam
