Frontline Plus for Dogs Active Ingredients

The active ingredients in Frontline Plus for Dogs are 9.8% fipronil and 8.8% (s)-methoprene. All of the generic alternatives listed below contain the same active ingredients, in the same concentrations. For full details, compare the product label of Frontline Plus to the generics’ labels (linked below).

Fipronil is an adulticide that quickly kills adult fleas on the treated dog. (s)-methoprene (also called Precor) is an insect growth regulator (IGR). It mimics natural insect hormones that regulate development and maturity. Flea eggs and larvae that are exposed to an IGR can’t mature into adults. And IGR-exposed adult females can’t lay eggs.

Purchased ZOGUARD PLUS at COSTCO. Four boxes. It worked for about ten days and then pets were covered in fleas. My pets had NO FLEAS OR TICKS before that because we live in Las Vegas where there are no ticks/fleas.
